For schools – educational programmes

Zoologická zahrada Tábor-Větrovy a.s. , as a full-valued institution of its kind, offers a wide spectrum of supporting programmes for the general public, both for children and adults of all age groups. Our interest and wish is to provide quality supporting programmes giving visitors the maximum possible information in an entertaining way, under the guidance of experienced educators.

Programmes for school and after-school institutions are suited to the needs of the interested parties and modified according to the age, interests or study focus as well specific educational needs of the target group. Thus, our programmes are suitable for nurseries, primary schools, all kinds of vocational schools and secondary schools. We also focus on special schools, social care institutes, early care centres, day care institutes, civic associations supporting socially, physically or mentally challenged clients.

Emphasis is placed on gaining knowledge of the bred animals, their habitats, behavioural patterns, we stress the importance of their protection. You can also find elements of zoo therapy here, in particular our children’s zoo. We emphasise environmental and multicultural education, all programmes concern the competence of the Framework Educational Plan.

Creative work is an integral part of each programme, either artistic or having the form of various tests, quizzes, competition questions, field games and all kinds of contact and communication activities.

We make our visitors develop their sense of team work and fair-play, as well as their abilities to work independently.

All programmes take place at the premises of the zoo and besides the above activities they include meeting and getting to know certain animal species according to the type of the selected programme. If required by a programme or if the weather is not favourable, a part of the programme takes place in a catering tent. If interested, please contact our educational programmes department.
